Christ for India - Jameson Titus
Join us once again as we warmly welcome Jameson, who will be updating us on the happenings and progress at Christ for India. Please come & meet Jameson.
Easter Tea
Join us for our Easter tea, with fellowship and the story of Christ's sacrifice for us. Why not take a couple of hours out from DIY to contemplate the real meaning of Easter.
Over 20 years ago the Lord released a vision to us as a
Church. It contained many things revealing God’s purposes for us
as a group of Christians at Bethel. It has stretched our Faith.
The Lord was directing us to be more open and to communicate and
serve the community in Bedwas and also the wider region around
us in a new way.
We realised it would be costly in time and finance and would require a great deal of commitment but we knew we had to rise to the call of God on us as a Church.
One aspect of the vision was to purchase a property in Bedwas and create a Christian Resource Centre where people could meet with God’s people on neutral ground and it would be a place to serve the wider Church in the area bringing unity.
The history of events is a wonderful story. It’s been challenging and faith stretching but over the last eight years we have a wonderful story to tell of God’s faithfulness, goodness and provision. There is also a story of sacrifice and submission to God’s call upon us as a people.
Yes, God is faithful. Although many believed what we began was the end in fact it was the beginning of something God would expand.
After 8 years our bookshop, small though it was, and crammed
literally with Bibles, Books, Gifts and Cards. It has been a
blessing to everyone but God laid on our hearts 2 years ago to
move it into the shop next door, No.3 Church Street. What a
challenge! There was a tenant running a business, we had no
money and it seemed impossible but God was in control. Events
unfolded and now on Thursday 22nd October 2009 the new bookshop
opened. It is beautiful - bigger and better. We trust we have
honoured God in what has been done. After many obstacles, God
again has blessed. He provides for what He envisions.
Many questioned our decisions in the light of the present recession but all things are possible with God.
We pray the wider Church will be blessed through this ministry and many Christian Missions will be encouraged and the community around us will see the Church being relevant and helpful.
We are so pleased to be able to talk and pray with so many who visit us.
Please consider visiting us to use the new shop and support the vision God gave us so many years ago. One more thing, the vision is not yet complete. There will be more challenges for us in the days ahead. Please pray that many lives will be blessed through the Bookshop’s ministry.
We stock an extensive range of Christian books, Bible, children's books, sundries, CD's and jewellery.Among other items on sales are Christian crafts from around the world.
We support Christian charities such as Tearcraft, The Leprosy Mission and Toy Box Charity (a charity which provides for the needs of the street children of Guatemala).
We also have a wonderful array of Christian cards to suit every occasion.
We are happy to order goods for individuals and Churches. Also, the bookshop team are only too pleased to support conferences held within the local area.
We count it a privilege to serve The Lord in this way, by providing God's Word and good Christian literature to the surrounding locality.
In the near future our bookshop will be moving into larger premises (within The Rock building).
Why not visit us and browse, and perhaps enjoy a cup of coffee in our adjoining coffee shop?
The bookshop normal opening hours are:
10am - 4.30pm Monday and Tuesday
Closed Wednesday
10am - 4.30pm Thursday to Saturday
Closed Sunday
